about

october-november 2020, by the end of the fucked up year that 2020 has been, we realized we wanted some more heavy metal. this has a lot of black metal and sludge in it but also a shitload of reverb and distant weird sounds and even some melodies. it's all pretty nordic and we borrowed some stories from our viking friends. the main concept revolves around the legendary figure of the mare, a nocturnal being that creeps over your chest while you sleep to bring you nightmares. from there we explored different themes all about dreams and nightmares and how they may or may not interact with "real" life.
